Great Natural Hair for Maxi Dresses

I love maxi dresses. I do not have enough of them, but I do plan to remedy that in the not so distant future. One of things that I love about most maxis is that they are cool, comfy and appear effortless.

And that same ease of style should translate to the hair.

I love this protective style! I love the color, the side french roll, the flat twist in the front for an interesting detail and the woman (the "singer" Cassie) wearing it is beautiful.

I am not sure I have the length for this. But stretched hair could probably achieve this.

Today's do....

Hey all!

I had my hair colored on Friday and ever since then, I've been itching to wear my hair out. If you don't know I've been on a protective hair & hide your hair challenge until my nappiversary on June 26. For the most part I haven't worn my hair out in public much since the end of February.

I decided to wear my hair out today. Last night, I DC'd for an hour (baggy, no heat) with

• Condish (don't ask me what kind I forgot LOL)
• Olive Oil
• Silk Amino Acids (SAA)
• Wheat Germ Oil
• Jojoba Oil
• Baking Soda

Man my hair was super soft afterwards! So I co-washed with ORS Replenishing Conditioner and Kera Care Condish for Color Treated Hair. I let it air dry about 50 percent. Sprayed and moisturized with my special "juicing" agent (um, S-curl activator LOL) and did fat two-strand twists all over. Here are the results....

It's in a relatively low puff (trying to make sure no hair brushes clothing). Made the headband myself...

Here's an upclose of my texture...I finally have some! LOL

I think I will go with this style for the remainder of the week. It feels good to have my hair out for a change.

Day 3 of Twist Out

I'm feeling the "chunkiness" of today's twistout...

What did I do?!?!?

I arrived home at 1 AM from Memphis (that is a long a*# drive LOL)...I had thought I would wear a puff today (quick and simple), but I really like the twist out and thought that hairstyle would better go with what I was planning to wear.

So while I was unwinding (I still couldn't go right to sleep despite being exhausted) I sat in bed and did LARGE two-strand twists. When I undid them this morning, this is what I came up with. I picked it a little to blend, sprayed with shine and I was done in 10 minutes....I sorta like that notion.

I like my hair fresh, so depending on how I feel when I get home, this may get washed and done over. But at least now I know that I can hold on to it for three days and revive it with larger twists!

My Secret to Two Strand Twists

I've fallen in love with 2 strand twists. I tried them when I first BC'd but wasn't as satisfied as I have been the last two times I've done them.

For me, the difference has been the use of Hawaiian Silky 14-1. It has made my hair soft and silky and moisturized.
